Our story
Built from the ground up as a B2B specialist
Vigil Cleaning Services was founded in 2018 when our founder identified a clear gap in the London cleaning market: businesses needed reliable, professionally managed cleaning programmes — not the rotating agency staff and inconsistent standards that defined most providers at the time.
Vigil Services Ltd was formally established in 2019 with a simple operating principle: directly employ every operative, assign them consistently to the same sites, and give clients the digital proof they need to hold us accountable on every visit.
The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the importance of professional, compliant cleaning for businesses. We expanded our expertise and sector coverage — healthcare, construction, and property management — in response to growing demand for properly managed commercial cleaning programmes with documented hygiene protocols.
Vigil founded — initial commercial cleaning contracts in East London
Vigil Services Ltd incorporated — direct employment model established
Healthcare and construction sector expertise developed during pandemic

Full 32-borough Greater London coverage achieved
Mission & values
What we stand for
Every client should be able to prove their premises were cleaned to standard. We provide the documentation to make that possible.
Direct employment
We recruit, train, DBS-check, and directly employ every operative. No agency relationships, no sub-contracting, no rotating pools of unfamiliar staff.
Accountability on every visit
Every visit is digitally signed off at the time of completion. Clients receive timestamped completion records — shareable with auditors, regulators, or freeholders.
Compliance-first approach
COSHH-trained operatives, CQC-aware procedures for healthcare clients, CDM awareness for construction sites. Compliance is built into our operating model.
Consistent assignment
The same operative is assigned to your site on every visit. They know your access codes, your preferences, and your standard — without being briefed each time.
Transparent reporting
Monthly SLA reports give operations teams full visibility across every property in the portfolio — visit completion rates, reported issues, and operative attendance.
TUPE expertise
We manage TUPE transitions as part of every contract onboarding. Existing cleaning staff are assessed, consulted, and absorbed on their existing terms — eliminating liability for the client.
