For Vigil colleagues
Colleague Support
This page is for Vigil operatives, supervisors, and team members. If you have a question about pay, need to raise a concern, or need support — here is where to start.
Payroll and hours queries
If you have a question about your pay, your hours, or your payslip — contact the payroll team directly. Payslips are issued electronically by the 25th of each month for the preceding pay period.
cleaning@vigilservices.co.ukShift and schedule queries
If you need to report a site access issue, request a schedule change, or report absence — contact your line manager or supervisor in the first instance. For escalation, email the office directly.
cleaning@vigilservices.co.ukRaising a grievance
If you wish to raise a formal grievance — about your treatment at work, a colleague, a manager, or any other work-related concern — you are entitled to do so under our grievance procedure. Grievances should be raised in writing.
Step 1: Write to your line manager. If your grievance concerns your line manager, write directly to the director. All grievances will be acknowledged within 5 working days and a meeting arranged within 10 working days.
Submit a grievance in writing →Whistleblowing — reporting wrongdoing
If you have a genuine concern about illegal activity, a health and safety risk, or a serious breach of company policy — you have the right to report it without fear of detriment. This includes concerns about modern slavery, exploitation, or unlawful practices.
You can report whistleblowing concerns in confidence to the director directly. External disclosures can also be made to the relevant regulatory body (such as the HSE or local authority) if you feel internal reporting is not appropriate.
Report a concern confidentially →Mental health and wellbeing
If you are struggling with your mental health or personal circumstances that are affecting your ability to work, please talk to your manager or contact the office directly. We will always try to support you, including adjusting schedules where possible.
Your employment rights
As a directly employed Vigil colleague, you have full employment rights from day one — including the right to a payslip, statutory sick pay, holiday pay, and protection against unfair dismissal (after 2 years). You are never an agency worker.
